Colfosco, una frazione del comune di Corvara in Badia, è la località più alta dell’area vacanze Alta Badia - Dolomiti. Si trova a 1.645 m s.l.m. e la sua fantastica posizione ai piedi del Passo Gardena, la rende un luogo ideale per escursioni, arrampicate e molte altre attività.

Il panorama qui intorno è suggestivo.

Colfosco, in the heart of Alta Badia Dolomites, belongs to Corvara municipality. It is one of the Alta Badia villages with the highest elevation. It is situated at 1,645 m.a.s.l. and its beautiful geographic position, at the bottom of Passo Gardena, is perfect for mountaineering, climbing and lots of other activities.
The landscape here around is fantastic.

Per la seconda volta, negli ultimi due anni, durante il caldo torrido estivo che sovrasta Milano, ci siamo rifugiati per qualche giorno a Colfosco. Qui si respira un'aria fine e fresca.

In Colfosco ci siamo tovati molto bene alla "Pension Sellablik" (Comfort moderno, gestione familiare, parcheggio clienti, animali ammessi).

This is the second time, in the last two years, that we've decide to leave Milan, in his hottest days and spend some time in Colfosco, where you can breathe some fresh air.

In Colfosco we've spent a very good time in: "Pension Sellablik"(modern comfort, family management, parking for the customers, dogs are welcome).

L'hotel ha camere accoglienti con vista sulle montagne, una buona cucina, buon prezzo, buona ospitalità.

La posizione dell'hotel è ideale per escursioni e passeggiate lungo sentieri ben curati, dove si ha la possibilità di scoprire luoghi meravigliosi e raggiungere punti panoramici da cui ammirare tutte le tonalità del verde e del marrone, immersi nella natura.

The hotel has comfortable rooms overlooking the mountains, good food, good price, and good hospitality.

It is located in a good position for walks, along very well kept paths, where you can discover suggestive landscapes, see all the shades of green and brown and have the chance to be at one with nature.

You can see cows and calves grazing in the meadows ...

Un gruppo, tutte le sere alla stessa ora, si raduna sotto l'albergo in attesa di chi le aiuta ad attraversare la strada e raggiungere la stalla. Il suono delle loro campane ci ricorda che è quasi ora di cena.

Some of them, every evening at the same time, gather a few step far from the hotel waiting for somebody who helps them to cross the road and reach the stable. The sound of their bells remind us that it's nearly time to dinner.

A pochi passi dall'albergo partono i sentieri per passeggiate ed escursioni.

A few steps far from the hotel you can find several different paths for walking and climbing.

Che bella sensazione!/What a marvelous sensation!

Il sentiero è tutto in salita. L'arrivo, anche se non si è ad altezze elevate, da una bellissima sensazione di libertà. Ci si sente più vicini al cielo! L'acqua, che scende dalle rocce, schizza tutta intorno, regalando allegria.

The path is all uphill. The arrival, even if you are not at high elevation, gives a wonderful feeling of freedom. You feel closer to heaven! The water, coming down from the rocks, squirts all around, giving joy.

Durante questa passeggiata il tempo è stato abbastanza brutto, percui non siamo riuscite a scattare molte foto. In ogni caso, il paesaggio è bellissimo anche sotto la pioggia!

During this walk the weather was bad enough so we could't take many shoots. The landscape, anyway is great, even in the rain!

da Colfosco parte la Cabinovia al Col Pradat e. in pochi minuti, si arriva a 2030 m s.l.m. Da qui si ha una vista spettacolare su alcune vette dolomitiche, dal Fanes alla Marmolada, all’imponente Sella, e sotto il verde paesaggio da Passo Gardena fino a Corvara.

In a few minutes, from Colfosco, you can reach Col Pradat (2.030 m a.s.l.) by cableway and enjoy a wonderful view of some Dolomites summits: from Fanes to the Marmolada, the huge Sella range and the green landscape of the valley from Pass Gardena to Corvara.

Oltre alla bellezza del territorio, uno degli aspetti più caratteristici e distintivi della Val Badia, è la lingua: il ladino.
La lingua ladina è una lingua retoromanza, parlata dai Reti, un popoli di pastori che anticamente popolavano l’Europa. Accanto all’italiano ed al tedesco il ladino è la terza lingua parlata in Alto Adige.
Durante la festa del paese, la popolazione sfila per la via principale nei suoi abiti tradizionali ladini e suona musiche locali. In queste occasioni è anche possibile degustare prodotti tipici della valle, tra cui lo Strudel e le Fortaie (Strauben) che io amo tanto.

The local language is an Alta Badia peculiarity. the Ladin language is an ancient Romance language spoken by the Rhaetian, shepherds who, long ago, lived in Europe. It is one of the three languages spoken in the province of South Tyrol, in addition to Italian and German.

During the village festival, the population parades through the main road in his traditional Ladin clothes, playing traditional music. On this occasion you can even taste typical products of the valley, including Strudel and Fortaie (Strauben) that I love so much!
