Ho trascorso le estati della mia infanzia e della mia adolescenza sulla riviera ligure di levante. Ho visitato la maggior parte dei piccoli e grandi paesi, da Genova a La Spezia. La riviera di ponente invece non la conosco molto bene. In questi giorni ho trasorso delle bellissime giornate in luoghi a me fino ad ora sconosciuti.
Noli si trova a circa 2 ore di macchina da Milano, ed è situata tra Varigotti e Spotorno.
E' una stazione balneare che si distingue per il suggestivo antico borgo marinaro caratterizzato da strette viuzze (carüggi),
molte delle quali sovrastate da archetti portanti.
Il comune è rimasto
uno dei pochi borghi costieri ad avere ancora pescatori del posto che
ogni notte, escono in mare con le loro piccole barche a motore.I spent the summers of my childhood and my adolescence in Liguria, on the east coast (riviera di levante). I visited most of the little and big villages located from Genoa to La Spezia. Instead, I do not know the west coast (riviera di ponente) very well. These days I've spent some time visiting places I had never seen before.
Noli is approximately at 2 hours drive from Milan, and is located between Varigotti and Spotorno.
It 'a seaside resort that stands out for its charming old fishing village characterized by narrow streets (carüggi), often surmounted by arches.
The town has remained one of the few towns of the coast that still has local fishermen that every night go out fishing in their small boats.
The bay is said to be uncontaminated by urban and industrial effluents pollution and this is demonstrated by the fact that it is a breeding ground for crustaceans, molluscs and other kinds of fishes. Moreover, it is said that, watching off the coast, you can happen to see whales and dolphins.

You can find several private beaches and wide free beaches.

Here, the sea is turquoise and crystalline.
I gabbiani "passegiano" sulla riva e "fluttuano" sull'acqua.
Seagulls "walk" on the beach and "float"on the water.
Noli è uno dei centri medievali di maggior interesse storico ed artistico della Liguria ed è stato recensito come uno dei borghi più belli d'Italia.
Noli is one of the most beautiful historic, medieval and artistic centres in Liguria and has been reviewed as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.

... ed è caratterizzato dalle sue torri. In origine erano oltre 70. Oggi sono ancora numerose e ben conservate. Le torri, si dice abbiano il profilo "ardito", caratteristica del borgo, animato da coraggio e spirito di libertà, dalla colonizzazione romana del X avanti Cristo al tempo delle Crociate (che segnarono per Noli, il decollo economico e politico) e soprattutto durante tutta l'avventura di libera Repubblica (dal 1192 al 1797), dopodichè Noli, venne consegnata ai Francesi, insieme alla sua libertà.
... and is characterized by its towers. Originally there were over 70 towers. Todays lots of them are still well preserved. The towers are said to have the "bold" feature of the village, which was always led by the spirit of courage and freedom, from the Roman times of the X BC to the Crusades (which made Noli, an economic and political center), and especially, throughout the time of its freedom as a Republic (from 1192 to 1797), after that Noli was given to the French, along with its freedom.
